FocusTimer Pro Support & Guides

App remains open or a quit warning appears

  1. Check whether the app is still running, rather than whether its window is visible. Some apps remain running with no open windows.
  2. Handle any unsaved-work confirmation in the app. FocusTimer Pro sends a normal Quit request and does not force-kill it.
  3. In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Automation, allow Stream Deck to control that app.
  4. If you added the app manually, check its exact name. Otherwise remove it with × and select it again from the dropdown.

An app can close before sending its AppleScript reply. FocusTimer Pro rechecks whether it is running after a failed quit request and suppresses the warning when it confirms the app has exited. If the state cannot be checked, it keeps the warning visible. Report the app name and whether it actually closed if this continues.

Website tabs remain open

Only Safari and Google Chrome are supported. Allow Stream Deck to control the browser under Automation. Enter domains such as youtube.com, separated by commas. Subdomains are included; unrelated domains and other browsers are not blocked. Checks run during active focus, approximately every three seconds, and may take longer while macOS is awaiting permission or an app is busy.

App selector

Use Refresh to rescan installed apps. Standard Applications folders and their subfolders are searched. Apps stored elsewhere can be added by exact name under App not listed?. Existing selections remain when you refresh. Stream Deck and essential macOS components are excluded from blocking.

Do Not Disturb, desktop icons and screen lock

Interrupted sessions and recovery

If Stream Deck or the plugin stops unexpectedly, open Stream Deck again. On startup, FocusTimer Pro attempts to restore pending environment changes and leaves the timer idle. A process that has been force-quit cannot restore macOS until it runs again.

If restoration fails, the pending operations remain recorded for retry. Do not delete recovery data while environment changes remain unresolved. Contact support if a recovery warning persists.
