3. Color Swatch Inspector

Copy any color code (HEX, RGB, RGBA, HSL, HSLA) to turn the key into a physical full-color tile:

4. History Dial & Inspector (Stream Deck + Encoders)

Navigate clipboard history physically using rotary encoders on Stream Deck + and compatible devices:

Interaction Behavior
Rotate the dial Scroll through your recent clipboard items. The touchstrip displays item content and position index.
Push the dial Paste the currently selected history item directly into the active application.
Tap the touchstrip Pin the displayed text item immediately to your saved favorites list.

5. ClipShelf Infobar (Stream Deck Neo)

Assign this action to the 232 × 50 Neo Infobar display. It shows a continuous readout of your latest copied item without occupying keypad slots. Use adjacent keypad keys for paste and wipe.

6. Wipe Clipboard

Tap to clear the operating system clipboard and flush ClipShelf's recent in-memory session history. Saved pins and favorites remain preserved.

Action Settings & Pasting Behavior

Copy only (do not paste):

Off by default. When enabled, tapping a key places the item on your clipboard without sending simulated paste keystrokes. This is ideal if:

Tip: Holding any key for 0.5s copies without pasting at any time, even when this setting is unchecked.
Restore previous clipboard after paste:

Off by default. When enabled, ClipShelf takes an in-memory snapshot of whatever was on your clipboard before pasting, sends the paste shortcut, and restores your previous clipboard content 250 ms later. This allows you to quickly paste a shelf snippet or color swatch without losing active text or images you were working with.

Troubleshooting note: If a slow web app, remote desktop, or VM pastes your previous clipboard instead of the shelf item, disable this option to give the app unlimited time to read.

Privacy Shield

ClipShelf includes a built-in Privacy Shield enabled by default. It inspects clipboard metadata and drops copies originating from recognized password managers, including:

Best-Effort Protection: While Privacy Shield drops known password manager markers, source metadata depends on the source app and OS. Unmarked secrets may still be captured. Always use Wipe Clipboard when handling sensitive data.
