Check the battery levels of your Bluetooth accessories from Stream Deck. See percentages on a button, or press it to receive one macOS notification for up to four selected devices.
No terminal commands or user-created Shortcuts are needed. Keep Stream Deck running so the plugin can respond to your buttons.
Select Device 1 first. Device 2 then appears; selecting it reveals Device 3, and so on up to Device 4. A device cannot be selected twice on the same button. Each button stores its own choices.
Choose None - add another accessory in a later selector to remove that device and the selections after it. Change Device 1 to switch the first accessory. Press the key to report all selected devices together.
| Setting | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Checked (default) | Displays battery percentages below the blue-purple battery icon. With multiple accessories, readings follow the order of your device selections; three or four readings use two rows. |
| Unchecked | Displays the battery icon without percentage text. Pressing the key still sends a notification for all selected accessories. |
Readings refresh about once a minute while the button is visible, when you change its settings, and after a successful button press. Bluetooth battery reports can take time to update.
Drag Battery Infobar onto your Neo Infobar and choose up to four accessories. Names and percentages update every minute. The Infobar is display-only: use a regular Device Battery Monitor key for notifications. Its percentages are always visible, independently of the button display checkbox.
Find accessories refreshes the selectable device list. Use it after connecting or waking a device, or after allowing Bluetooth access.
A percentage means battery data is available. N/A or battery unavailable means the device cannot currently provide a readable level. This does not mean 0%. A disconnected device is reported as unavailable; the plugin does not replace it with a different accessory.
Magic Battery sends notifications when you press the key. It does not send automatic low-battery alerts.
Bluetooth access lets the helper read accessory battery data. Notification permission lets it show the result on your Mac. These are separate settings. Menu labels may differ slightly between macOS versions.
Focus, including Do Not Disturb, can silence a banner even when notifications are allowed. For a quick test, turn Focus off in Control Center. To keep Focus on, allow Magic Battery in that Focus's app notification settings under System Settings > Focus.
If you are sharing or mirroring your screen, check the corresponding option in Notifications settings. Notifications may also be hidden while your screen is locked or sleeping.
| Issue / Symptom | Explanation & Solution |
|---|---|
| No accessories, or "Could not read accessories" | Turn Bluetooth on in System Settings. Connect and wake the accessory, check Bluetooth permission, and click Find accessories. If the plugin reports that it did not respond, close and reopen Stream Deck and try again. |
| Accessory is connected, but shows N/A | Some devices expose a battery level in macOS but do not provide it through the interfaces available to this plugin. Reconnect or wake the device and refresh. AirPods and every Bluetooth product are not guaranteed to work. An unavailable reading is never treated as 0%. |
| Percentages do not appear on the button | Check Show battery percentages on button. Reset any custom button image to default. If you switched it off, the icon-only display is expected. |
| Button press gives no visible notification | Select at least one accessory. Allow notifications for Magic Battery and choose a visible desktop style. Check Focus, preview settings and screen sharing. Press again after allowing permission. macOS can accept a notification without showing a banner. |
| Magic Battery is not listed under Notifications | Press a configured key to trigger its first notification request. Allow the prompt. Reopen System Settings and look for Magic Battery or MagicBattery Helper. If no prompt appears, restart Stream Deck and try again. |
| Button displays Unavailable or an alert symbol | The plugin could not complete a device read or notification request. Check Bluetooth and notification access, reconnect the accessory and try again. If it continues, contact support. |
